A Christmas Carol

Presented at Meadow Brook Theatre, located in Rochester, Michigan. Performed November 19th thru December 23rd, 2021.

Charles Dickens' classic Christmas tale of the old miser Ebenezer Scrooge and his change of heart. Scrooge hates Christmas with a passion. Taking out his anger on his family, employees, friends, and London itself, he lives a lonely and pitiful existence. When his former coworker shows up as a ghostly apparition, Scrooge is told that he will be haunted by three ghosts: the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future. These ghosts show him the error of his ways and the joys of Christmas he elects to miss out on.

On its 39th year of production, this is one of the longer show runs I've done, and also one of the most extraordinary. Packed with special effects (flash pots, fog, traps on the stage, Future being on stilts, etc.), costumes, and actors to take care of, I was always busy. I was the Kid Dresser for this show, so I took care of the kid's costumes (steamed and pressed them), kept the dressing room tidy, and helped with changes. I also assisted two of the kids into "dirt" makeup for the roles of "Want" and "Ignorance", helping them put it on and take it off. For the adult cast, I worked Run Crew. I helped with a couple changes, styled the wigs, and pressed the white shirts, starching Scrooge's collar. I also made one of the Fezziwig dresses (first girl on the left in the "Fezziwig Party" picture), featuring an empire waist, satin bow, and lace accessories. I also did light focus and hang.
